Plot Synopsis
DARK is a one-hour German-language series that's a family saga -- with a supernatural twist -- centering on the disappearance of two young children in a German town and exposing the double lives and fractured relationships among four families. The series opens in 2019, when a local boy's disappearance stokes fear in the residents of Winden, a small German town with a strange and tragic history. When a grim discovery leaves the police baffled, Ulrich seeks a search warrant for the power plant. A mysterious stranger checks into the hotel. In the show's supernatural twist, the series then goes back to 1986, where Ulrich's brother, Mads, has been missing for a month. Confusion reigns as past and present intertwine. Bizarre occurrences give Charlotte a sense of deja vu, and she suspects Peter is hiding something. Franziska snaps when Magnus confronts her. On Friday, December 1, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the entire 10-episode first season of DARK.
The eight-episode second season of DARK premiered on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire new season. Six months after the disappearances of Mikkel, Jonas and Ulrich, Winden's web of mysteries deepens -- and the fate of the world hangs in the balance. In 2052, Jonas learns that most of Winden perished in an apocalyptic event.
