Plot Synopsis

In the year 2166, the immortal villain Vandal Savage is on the verge of his final victory -- total chaos and the utter destruction of humanity. As the world crumbles, the Time Master Rip Hunter takes matters into his own hands; to stop him, he travels 150 years into the past to assemble a carefully selected but disparate group of heroes and rogues: Hawkman, Hawkgirl, White Canary, The Atom, Firestorm, Captain Cold, and Heat Wave. Hunter has chosen what seems like an ill-matched group: billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, who has created an exo-suit with the power to shrink him to miniscule size, as the Atom; Sara Lance, the White Canary, a trained assassin; Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson 'Jax' Jackson, who together form the meta-human Firestorm; Leonard Snart, known as Captain Cold, and his partner Mick Rory (aka Heat Wave), a pair of career criminals; and Kendra Saunders (aka Hawkgirl) and Carter Hall (aka Hawkman). Convinced by Hunter to join him in the fight to defeat Savage, the group travels back and forth through time to try to stop Savage's plans from being set into motion, while Hunter struggles to keep to his duty as a Time Master and avoid irreparable damage to the timeline of history. The fate of the world is in the hands of this unlikely team, and the battle to save the earth will be legendary. Together, they must stop one of the most formidable villains of all time, while they must learn how to not only be a team, but heroes as well. On Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 9-9:30pm ET/PT, The CW premiered a brand-new, half-hour special, DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: THEIR TIME IS NOW, featuring show clips and interviews from LEGENDS, ARROW, and THE FLASH executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, and Wendy Mericle. This special introduces he immortal madman Vandal Savage, Rip Hunter and his band of ragtag rogues and heroes. Two days later, DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premiered on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 8pm on The CW.

Season 2 of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premiered on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. After the defeat of the immortal villain Vandal Savage and the corrupt Time Masters who colluded with him, a new threat emerges. Dr. Nate Heywood, an unconventional and charming historian, is thrust into the action upon making a shocking discovery -- the Legends are scattered throughout time. Nate must find a way to rescue this beloved team of heroes and rogues. When the Legends encounter the J.S.A (the Justice Society of America, the precursor to DC's Justice League) in the 1940s, Amaya Jiwe (aka Vixen) joins the team. While the team reunites, a mystery looms -- the fate of former captain Rip Hunter. Once reunited, the Legends continue their new mission to protect the timeline from temporal aberrations - unusual changes to history that spawn potentially catastrophic consequences. When Nate, the grandson of J.S.A. member Commander Steel, unexpectedly finds himself with powers, he must overcome his own insecurities and find the hero within himself. Ultimately, the Legends will clash with foes both past and present, to save the world from a mysterious new threat. On Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, The CW debuted the winter premiere of DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. In the mid-season premiere, "Raiders of the Lost Art," when Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn try to capture Rip Hunter in 1967, they create an Aberration big enough to draw the attention of the Legends. However, when the team arrives they discover that Rip has no memories of his past due to "time drift" and is just a graduate film student. After trying to convince Rip of who he was, they discover that he possesses an incredibly powerful artifact known as the Spear of Destiny, which the Legion of Doom is after. Ray and Nate realize that the Aberration has also affected them personally making it difficult to help the team. Meanwhile, Roryasks Stein for help and makes him promise to keep it a secret from the team.

The third season of DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premiered on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new existential threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms -- a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question. With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband -- until Mick Rory discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time-travelling heroics, Sara wastes no time in getting the Legends back together. She reunites with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nate Heywood, former member of the JSA Amaya Jiwe, and Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson 'Jax' Jackson, who together form the meta-human Firestorm. Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau's authority, and, in true Legends style, eventually run afoul of the Bureau when they recruit a hacker from the future, Zari Tomaz. Against the wishes of the bureau, they welcome Zari to the team and continue their time travelling shenanigans, while insisting that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau's capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.

Season 4 of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premiered on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. In the season opener, "The Virgin Gary," the Legends find themselves in unfamiliar territory with the Time Bureau after they defeated Mallus and wiped the final anachronism from time. All that changes when Constantine informs Sara of a new magical threat that leads the team to Woodstock. Constantine thinks he knows how to defeat the new threat, but will need the help of the team and their special klepto talents to help with his spell. Meanwhile, Nate and Rory go on an adventure leaving Nate facing someone from his past. On Monday, April 1, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT, The CW debuted "Lucha De Apuestas," the spring premiere of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. When the Legends hear that Mona has let a fugitive go, they must head to 1961 Mexico City to clean up her mess. Mona tries to convince the Legends and the Bureau that the people responsible for releasing the fugitive were some mysterious Men in Black and not her. With no evidence to back up her theory, the Legends must decide if they should trust her and go against the Bureau. Meanwhile, Nate and Zari go on a recon mission to find out what Hank (guest star Tom Wilson) might be hiding from everyone.

DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW returned for the official start of its fifth season on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. One week earlier, the broadcast network debuted "Crisis on Infinite Earths (Part 5)," a new episode of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, which concluded the five-part "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover episodes. In attempting to change her future in Season 4, Zari Tomaz accidentally changes not just the past she shared with Nate Heywood, but fundamentally changes who the Legends are in Season 5. Can the team go back to who they were? Can a reformed arsonist turned romance novelist Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), a half-werewolf named Mona Wu, and a punk rocker shapeshifter named Charlie stop the literal Hell that Astra unleashes on the world in the finale? And what happens when the Legends awaken the original guardians of Time (no, not the Time Masters, that was Season 1!) who wish to erase everything the Legends have "screwed up for the better" over the previous four seasons? In the Season 5 opener, "Meet the Legends," Sara, Ray, and Mick are shocked to discover that the Legends have become famous. It seems that everyone except Sara is loving the spotlight, so much so that they invite a documentary crew on board the Waverider to film them as they investigate a strange new blip in the Timeline. The Legends discover that their new problem is none other than Rasputin, who happens to be straight out of hell, and it might be tougher than they thought. Meanwhile, Constantine thinks he knows the reason behind these new blips and informs the team that it won't be easy to defeat.

Season 6 of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premiered on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. Having spent last season trying to track down the Loom of Fate in order to bring back their slain comrades and save the world from mind control, the Legends must now save history from a foe like none they've encountered in the past or future. Co-captains of the time-ship Waverider Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe have dealt with monsters, time anomalies, and most recently, villains from Hell, but this season they will face something even more challenging and bizarre ... space aliens! After one of their own is abducted by a ruthless alien, this new mission becomes personal. Fighting against aliens in the timeline while also working to bring back their missing team mate, it will take more than the combined powers of a dark magician, John Constantine; a semi-reformed arsonist and Waverider O.G., Mick Rory; a historian who transforms into steel, Nate Heywood; a fresh out of Hell Astra Logue; and a brother-sister air-totem-wielding duo, Zara Tarazi and Behrad Tarazi to save the world (and beyond) for a sixth time. They must recruit a new Legend, a gun-totin' Texan named Spooner who was abducted by aliens when she was a child and imbued with powers that will help the team defeat their intergalactic foes. Either that or she's just crazy.

The seventh season of DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premiered on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. After saving 1925 Earth from an alien invasion (and getting married!), Legends co-captains Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe think they and their beloved crew can finally go home and relax. Too bad their time travel ship, the Waverider, gets blown up by a second Waverider...meaning the Legends are now trapped in 1925 Odessa, Texas! The only way to get home, and get payback on their mysterious new enemy, is to journey to New York City and find the forefather of time travel, Welsh inventor Dr. Gwyn Davies. But with no Waverider, no way of knowing how they're impacting the timeline, and a time traveling foe hunting them, this will be the toughest mission yet for the Legends. The team includes: a historian who transforms into steel, Nate Heywood; a former Queen of Hell turned rookie witch Astra Logue; the gun totin' empath Spooner Cruz, the warlock-in-training who's secretly an alien, Gary Green; and the brother-sister air-totem-wielding duo, Zari Tarazi and Behrad Tarazi. Along the way, they pick up a familiar but shocking new teammate: a real-life, human Gideon, who's knowledge of the timeline may be the key to solving all of the Legends' problems. After a seven-week break, DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW returned with new episodes on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT. In the winter premiere, "Paranoid Android," Sara starts to realize her team is making questionable choices when it comes to the timeline. Trying to figure out who is behind everything, Sara discovers some harsh truths.
