Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by series star Christina Applegate, series creator Liz Feldman, Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, DEAD TO ME is a half-hour dark comedy series that centers on acerbic real estate agent Jen, a sardonic widow, who is determined to solve her husband's recent hit-and-run murder. Tenderhearted Judy is an optimistic free spirit who's recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond over bottles of wine, Entenmann's cookies and a shared affinity for THE FACTS OF LIFE, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it. After the meet at the support group -- and amid her escalating rage over the stalled investigation into her husband's death -- Jen becomes more entangled in Judy's messy personal life. On what would have been her husband's 50th birthday, Jen clashes with her disapproving mother-in-law over the best way to mark the occasion. When Jen discovers that her late husband harbored a devastating secret, she enlists Judy's help in tracking down more information. The 10-episode second season of DEAD TO ME premiered on Friday, May 8, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Picking up in the aftermath of that bloody backyard reveal, Jen and Judy once again struggle to keep their secrets buried. With a surprising new visitor in town and Detective Perez hot on their heels, Jen and Judy take drastic measures to protect their loved ones and each other -- no matter the cost. In the season opener, "You Know What You Did," Jen and Judy grapple with the distressing events of the night before, and Jen soon realizes that eyes -- and ears -- are everywhere in her neighborhood.
