Plot Synopsis

By combining CGI animation with expert interviews, archival footage and new never-before-seen video, DEADLIEST TECH takes an in-depth look at the greatest military engineering accomplishments, revealing how they work, how they came to be, and how they made a difference in the theater of war. Each 60-minute episode focuses on a different technological advance, including: "Bombers," which highlights bombers that won the War to the B-52 and from the stealth B-2 to the most advanced and top secret bombers of the future; "ROVs," which documents the robotic warriors and unmanned war machines that are taking their place on the front lines and spearheading a revolution on the modern battlefield; and "Armor Technologies," showing how science and engineering have improved the performance of protective equipment while lightening the soldier's load. Experts include: Dr. Richard P. Hallion, an aerospace historian; Dr. Rebecca L. Grant, Mitchell Inst. for Airpower Studies; Bryan Gansner, Service Technician, Remotec; and other non-military personnel. Starting Wednesday, March 21, 2012, Military Channel originally aired three episodes of this series, using the title COMBAT TECH, on consecutive Wednesdays in March and April, before changing the name of the series to DEADLIEST TECH for the official series premiere on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 10pm ET.
