DEADLY JOURNEYS OF THE APOSTLES is a four-part series that explores beyond The Bible, building new biographies of the Apostles from 2,000 years of history strewn across the globe, including the latest discoveries, controversies and insights, and tracking their journeys through time and on land. New support from historical records, archeology, Apocrypha (historic stories and writing outside the Biblical Canon) and modern investigation expands on the traditional biblical accounts of the Apostles. In the aftermath of the world's most famous crucifixion, Jesus' 12 Apostles are charged with delivering his message to the four corners of Earth. Through scripture, myth, legend, and folklore, their travels to the north, south, east, and west are reimagined in separate episodes: Philip, Simon and Matthew embark south; Jude, John and James the Less head north; James the Great goes west, possibly to the Atlantic Ocean, surpassing the reach of Andrew and Peter; Bartholomew, Matthias and Thomas journey east. Nat Geo debuted all four episodes from 7-11pm ET/PT on the same night, the day before Palm Sunday, on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
