Plot Synopsis

This series explores the psyche of female killers, showing what turns love affairs into fatal attractions or how twisted minds and dark secrets can send women on lethal rampages. While male murderers are often driven by anger, impulse and destruction, women usually have more complex, long-term motives. Former FBI criminal profiler Candice DeLong, who is rumored to be the real life Clarice Starling, the character played by Jodie Foster in SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, offers insights into the motive of the killers, while forensic pathologist Dr. Janis Amatuzio reveals the telltale evidence that killers leave on their victims.

Investigation Discovery debuted Season 7 of this series on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, with an episode that featured a mom locking up her daughter like a POW, a woman quietly killing her community, and lesbian lovers who bash and burn a complete stranger.

DEADLY WOMEN returned for it eighth season from 9-11pm ET/PT with back-to-back new episodes. The Season 8 premiere, "Lady of Blood," focuses on Lizzie Borden, America's most infamous murderess, who was a quiet, Sunday school teacher born into a wealthy respected family -- until she took an ax and hacked her stepmother and father to death. After generations of curiosity surrounding the case, Candice DeLong delves into the psyche of the infamous ax-wielding killer. The night's second new program, "Mom's Money," is the show's 100th episode and revisits three homicides brought on by daughters seeking a different kind of maternal support: money.
