Plot Synopsis

THE DEED: CHICAGO is a one-hour reality series that follows multi-millionaire real-estate mogul Sean Conlon, as he comes to the aid of struggling property investors in dire need of help in the Chicago area. Conlon uses his own cash and his years of experience to rescue inexperienced home flippers who are on the verge of losing everything. These home flippers face every conceivable obstacle from unforeseen structural problems to shoddy work to hidden costs to lack of cash. It's how profits can turn to dust and how inexperienced investors can actually end up losing money. Flipping is never as easy as it seems but with the right partner, these deals can get back on track. Now, in this series, Conlon throws distressed developers a lifeline in exchange for a piece of the property and a percentage of the profits. Once a deal is struck, he stops at nothing to pull these money pits out of the red, even if that means firing contractors, rolling up his sleeves and doing the work himself. In the series premiere, "Fires on Every Floor," Sean partners with Berta, a real estate broker who started flipping condos on the side. She invested all her savings into her latest project, a large 1912 two-unit row house. But unreliable partners and her own negligence led to little progress after nine months. Now, Berta is left to right the mistakes her partners made while trying to dig herself out of financial ruin. Will Sean be able to help this sinking ship, or will Berta prove to be too inexperienced to stand at the helm?

The second season of THE DEED: CHICAGO premiered on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on CNBC. Real estate mogul Sean Conlon continues to rescue struggling property developers from the brink of financial ruin, in exchange for a piece of the property and a share of the profits. This season: more ambitious projects come with bigger risks... and bigger potential paydays -- from a high-end commercial designer who's more concerned with her brand than the budget, to an ambitious developer who's trying to leave his past behind, but is buried under a huge flip.

In the season opener, "Designer Dreamhouse," Caren and her husband Nic have a good track record as home flippers but their first attempt at building a house from the ground up is causing them serious problems. The couple have only just started construction on the elaborately designed, luxury four-bedroom house but Sean is shocked to learn that it's already $100,000 over budget. And Caren, an award winning interior designer seems reluctant to compromise on any of her big ideas or her costly finishes. Sean sets out to get the project back on track but teaching Caren to build for profit not just for prestige, proves a real challenge.
