Plot Synopsis

Based on William Landay's 2012 book of the same name, DEFENDING JACOB is a limited series that tells the story of Andy Barber, an Assistant District Attorney in a small Massachusetts town, who is dealing with the accusation that his 14-year-old son, Jacob, is a murderer. Andy finds himself torn between his sworn duty to uphold justice, and his unconditional love for his son. J.K. Simmons guest stars. Chris Evans, who stars as Andy Barber, is also an executive producer. The first three episodes of DEFENDING JACOB premiered at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT on Friday, April 24, 2020 on Apple TV+, and a new episode debuts weekly on subsequent Fridays through May 29.
