Plot Synopsis

Set in the Caribbean-inspired fairytale kingdom of Atlantica, DISNEY JR.'S ARIEL is a half-hour animated series that follows young mermaid princess Ariel, as she embarks on underwater adventures with her family and friends, including King Triton, Ursula, Flounder, and mer-friends Fernie and Lucia. Each episode features two stories that highlight themes of self-expression, curiosity and resourcefulness while celebrating the multicultural elements of the Caribbean through food, fashion, language and folklore. Dr. Patricia Saunders (Professor of English and hemispheric Caribbean studies and director of graduate studies at the University of Miami) serves as cultural consultant on the series. DISNEY JR.'S ARIEL debuted with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 9-9:50am ET/PT on Disney Jr. and 10-10:50am ET/PT on Disney Channel. One day later -- on Friday, June 28 -- the entire eight-episode first season drops on Disney+. These six new episodes then make their linear television debut on Fridays on Disney Jr (9am) and Disney Channel (10am), beginning June 28 through July 26.
