Plot Synopsis

DR. FEELGOOD is a one-hour documentary series that examines the terrible true stories of physicians whose practice led to controversy, mystery and tragedy for their notable clients. Each one-hour episode delves into one celebrity's search for happiness through physical enhancement, weight loss or performance booster and the prolonged debate that followed. Can doctors in the immediate orbit of celebrities remain objective and clear-headed in their diagnoses and treatments? And where does the responsibility lie: with the client who wanted and took the drugs -- or the expert who prescribed them? DR. FEELGOOD features these celebrity/doctor pairings: Michael Jackson & Dr. Conrad Murray, as the episode explores the true nature of the doctor's relationship with the King of Pop and whether the anesthetic drug Propofol may hold the answers to Dr. Murray's complicated role in Jackson's death; JFK & Dr. Max Jacobsen, as the program chronicles the rise and fall of Miracle Max, for whom New York's high society and Hollywood's elite opened their wallets and veins -- with JFK's approval; Anna Nicole Smith & Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, as the episode reveals how Anna's manager and lawyer Howard K. Stern, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor were accused of conspiring to prescribe the excess drugs after the the former Playboy model overdosed on prescription drugs in 2007; Elvis and Dr. George C. "Nick" Nichopoulos, as the program examines whether the doctor could ever truly make objective decisions after becoming a member of Elvis' party train; Marion Jones & Victor Conte, as the episode reveals how entrepreneur Victor Conte, the BALCO (Bay Area Laboratory Company) founder, provided performance-enhancing drugs to Olympic superstar Marion Jones, who was later stripped of her gold medal; Brian Wilson & Dr. Eugene Landy, as the program highlights how the radical psychologist, a doctor with an impressive client list, was treating Wilson for drug addiction, alcohol abuse and mental illness but instead caused their relationship to spiral into psychological abuse, mind games and virtual imprisonment of the rock legend; Howard Hughes & Dr. Wilbur Thain, as the episode reveals how Hughes suffered the effects of debilitating OCD and excruciating chronic pain, but how his doctors and closest allies may have been conspiring against him to take control of his wealth and business assets; and Celebrity Wives & Dr. Jiffy Lube, as the episode chronicles how Dr. Daniel Serrano, who promised clients like Priscilla Presley that his facial injections would be everlasting -- but was using toxic industrial grade silicone instead of the expensive European products he promoted.
