Plot Synopsis

Dr. Jan Garavaglia, the chief medical examiner for the District Nine Medical Examiner's Office in Orlando, Florida, opens the files on some of the most astonishing forensic investigations across America to take an inside look at cases that bewildered pathologists. Dr. G examines cases from other jurisdictions that grabbed her attention and triggered reverberations throughout the United States. Originally, Discovery Health aired "America's Most Shocking Cases" as a one-hour special on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 9pm ET/PT. In this special, one of the cases exposed an intricate crime of epic proportions while the other case contained a shocking insight into the murky origins of a deadly global pandemic.
