Plot Synopsis

In this syndicated daytime series (check local listings), medical professional Dr. Mehmet Oz dispenses advice, educates the audience, and answers medical questions, often with the help of celebrity guests, experts, leading doctors, authors, and even the studio audience. In each one-hour episode, Dr. Oz tackles multiple health and medical concerns, like fibroids, cold sores, and the effects of coffee. The fifth season of THE DR. OZ SHOW debuted on Monday, September 9, 2013, as Dr. Oz welcomed some of the cast of WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAYS? (Wayne Brady, Aisha Tyler and Colin Mochrie) for the Season 5 opener. Later in the first week of Season 5, Dr. Oz chatted with: Steven Tyler (Tuesday); Kim Coles, Cheryl Burke and Kandi Burruss (Wednesday); Tamar Braxton (Thursday); and Abby Lee Miller and Billy Eichner (Friday). THE DR. OZ SHOW returned for its sixth season on Monday, September 8, 2014. In the Season 6 premiere, Dr. Oz reveals he was contacted by the Board of Health about the excessive levels of mercury poisoning in his system, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Richard Besser and Dr. Sanjay Gupta discuss the latest news about the Ebola Virus crisis, and Dr. Oz launches his bringing healthy back tour with the first stop at "Dr. Oz's Healthy Heart Clinic," where he saw over 500 patients giving them the numbers they need to know to protect their heart health.
