Plot Synopsis

Narrated by Victoria Stilwell, DOGS WITH EXTRAORDINARY JOBS is a one-hour documentary series that features extraordinary dogs with extraordinary jobs, doing everything from saving lives to helping us conquer our greatest fears. The series details how these dogs' natural abilities -- from their powerful sense of smell to their strength and stamina to their desire to play -- are being harnessed to help people in remarkable ways. The series opener, "The Rescuers," highlights watch dogs from Italy to Africa to America that come to the rescue using their strength, sense of smell, and loyalty. DOGS WITH EXTRAORDINARY JOBS made its U.S. debut on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on Smithsonian Channel.

On Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT, Smithsonian Channel premiered "The Scent Detectives," the season finale of DOGS WITH EXTRAORDINARY JOBS. Dogs are using their remarkable scenting skills for lifesaving conservation and pro-active environmental policing; in Canada, a team of canine detectives is sniffing out the destructive invasive zebra mussel.
