Plot Synopsis
DOOM PATROL is a re-imagining of one of DC's most beloved group of outcast super heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (aka "The Chief"). The Doom Patrol's members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities -- but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence -- and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part super hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of TITANS, these reluctant heroes are in a place they never expected to be -- called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but also a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same. DOOM PATROL premieres Friday, February 15, 2019 on DC Universe, with a new episode each subsequent Friday through May 24, 2019. In the series opener, "Pilot," the reluctant heroes of the Doom Patrol -- Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane -- face the threat of Mr. Nobody, who's after The Chief.
The sophomore season of DOOM PATROL premieres Thursday, June 25, 2020 on HBO Max and DC Universe at 9am ET/6am PT. Cliff Steele aka Robotman, Larry Trainor aka Negative Man, Rita Farr aka Elasti-Woman, Jane aka Crazy Jane, and Victor Stone aka Cyborg are back again to save the world. That is, if they can find a way to grow up...both figuratively and literally. Following the defeat of Mr. Nobody, the members of the Doom Patrol now find themselves mini-sized and stranded on Cliff's toy race car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal by Niles Caulder aka The Chief, while confronting their own personal baggage. And as each member faces the challenge of growing beyond their own past traumatic experiences, they must come together to embrace and protect the newest member of the family: Dorothy Spinner (Abigail Shapiro), Niles' daughter, whose powers remain a mysterious but real threat to bringing on the end of the world. Three episodes premiered on June 25, with one new episode each Thursday morning through August 6.
Season 3 of DOOM PATROL premiered on Thursday, September 23, 2021 on HBO Max, which released the first three episodes of the new season. A new episode drops each Thursday through November 11. The third season opens on the culmination of Dorothy's confrontation with the Candlemaker that leads to a devastating loss. The Doom Patrol is at a difficult crossroads and each member struggles to face who they are and who they want to be. And things get a whole lot more complicated when Madame Rouge arrives in a time machine with a very specific mission, if only she could remember it.
The fourth season of DOOM PATROL debuted on Thursday, December 8, 2022 on HBO Max, which released the first two episodes of the new season. A new installment dropped each Thursday through January 5. Season 4 opens with the team unexpectedly traveling to the future to find an unwelcome surprise. Faced with their imminent demise, the Doom Patrol must decide once and for all which is more important: their own happiness or the fate of the world? After a nine-month break, DOOM PATROL returned with the first of a new batch episodes on Thursday, October 12, 2023 on Max. A new installment drops weekly on Thursdays. In the series' final six episodes, the Doom Patrol meet old friends and foes as they race to defeat Immortus and get back their longevities. Battling between saving the world and each other, the Doom Patrol are forced to face their deepest fears and decide if they are ready to let go of the past in order to take their future into their own hands... and away from the zombie butts.
