Plot Synopsis

In the movie HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, Hiccup learned that dragons could be trained, and the island's residents soon realized that the Island of Berk was safe despite being filled with the beasts. Now that he's a master trainer of dragons, Hiccup, his loyal steed Toothless, and his Viking warrior friends explore other locations to find new animals and villains. Along they way, the group will find plenty of new dragon breeds, such as the Typhoomerang, a Scorcher class dragon that creates a cyclone of fire as it flies. The main group of Viking friends includes: Hiccup, the original dragon trainer and the leader of Berk's Dragon Training Academy, who tries to maintain the delicate alliance between humans and dragons -- all while staying with his companion Toothless, the only known Night Fury dragon; Astrid, a smart and fearless warrior, who is often at Hiccup's side with her dragon, Stormfly, a beast that is beautiful and strong like her; Fishlegs, a walking dragon encyclopedia, whose ability to identify dragon weaknesses is a real lifesaver; and Ruffnut and Tuffnut, fiercely competitive fraternal twins, who share the same wild energy and a taste adrenaline pumping adventure. Cartoon Network aired a one-hour sneak peek of the series by showing two back-to-back full episodes on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 7:30pm ET, and showed the official series premiere nearly one month later on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 7:30pm ET. On Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 7:30pm ET/PT on Cartoon Network, DREAMWORKS DRAGONS returned for a second season with a new subtitle, DEFENDERS OF BERK, and a new cast member, with Andree Vermeulen replacing Julie Marcus as the voice of Ruffnut. In Season 2, Hiccup and his dragon Toothless lead the way, as the gang faces a surprising enemy, rare and wild dragons, and exciting adventures. But when an unforeseen villain emerges, the trainers must develop their skills and defend the Viking Island of Berk. Meanwhile, the kids take it upon themselves to protect Berk, using a secret club, Dragons Flight Club, to battle dangerous enemies with new dragon knowledge and flying skills. The story of Hiccup and the gang continues for 20 episodes in Season 2, with the story leading into the theatrical film DREAMWORKS DRAGONS 2, which is scheduled to be released in June 2014.
