Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Simon Helberg and series creator/host Elvis Mitchell, ELVIS GOES THERE is a one-hour documentary series that follows Mitchell as he travels with A-list filmmakers and actors to places of inspiration around the world with unprecedented access, exploring how each location shaped their work and identity. Said Mitchell, "This is my dream of a show. It's an origin story -- how these artists got to be -- set in the places that formed them. And it's a show where people get to explain themselves, rather than hustle a new project. I'm thrilled these artists gave me the gift of their time." The four filmmakers schedule to appear include:

Paul Feig (Monday, February 4, 2019 @ 10pm ET/PT): In the series opener, Elvis Mitchell meets Paul Feig in London for a first-hand look at the evolution of his career in film, with the city's elegant style and traditions as a backdrop.

Ryan Coogler (Monday, February 11, 2019 @ 10pm ET/PT): Elvis Mitchell kicks it with Ryan Coogler in his hometown on the heels of Black Panther to explore how Oakland shaped him as a filmmaker. Daveed Diggs and Boots Riley share the influence the East Bay has had on their work.

Sofia Coppola (Monday, February 18, 2019 @ 10pm ET/PT): For centuries Paris has inspired countless poets and artists. Sofia Coppola is one of them. Film critic Elvis Mitchell explores what makes Paris one of the most artistically influential cities on earth.

Guillermo del Toro (Monday, February 25, 2019 @ 10pm ET/PT): In the season finale, Elvis Mitchell teams up with Shape of Water director Guillermo Del Toro in Los Angeles. They meet with the legendary Laurence Fishburne, director Ana Lily Amirpour, and the unsung heroes who bring film creatures to life.
