Plot Synopsis

Directed by Ruthie Shatz and Adi Barash, EMERGENCY: NYC is an eight-episode documentary series that follows the day-to-day lives of emergency medical workers across New York City, revealing the struggles and triumphs of a helicopter flight nurse, transplant surgeons, paramedics, pediatriac trauma surgeons, and neurosurgeons. Whether they are treating a teenage gunshot victim, removing a clot from an opera singer's brain, or relieving a toddler's seizures, these medical professionals try to balance the intensity of their work with their personal lives. All eight episodes of EMERGENCY: NYC dropped on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 on Netflix.
