Plot Synopsis

Working for Proteus Group CEO Max Salinger in Denver, two scientists have developed the Proteus Accelerator, a device that harvests a limitless pool of dark energy, but their experiments are sabotaged by eco-terrorists, causing a dark-energy black hole that could destroy the planet. Dr. Karl Dameron and Dr. Rachel Bannister are the company's two lead scientists for the Proteus Accelerator, and they theorized they could drill a hole in the universe, using its dark energy to power the planet forever. Unfortunately, the duo works for Salinger, whose propensity for playing God has already preceded him for decades, with projects like high-tech greenhouses that are producing genetically-enhanced food. Because of his history, a band of eco-anarchists are prepared to work against him and plan to sabotage the Proteus Accelerator. Ruslan, a lineman at the Proteus Group power grid, knows about the dangers of amassing dark energy all too well, because ten years ago he saw lights in the sky that destroyed his Russian hometown, killing his wife and children, and wiping the entire town off the map. Now, he sees the same thing happening again in Denver, and he tries to warn the scientists, but Salinger has Calla working as an insider to make sure the project progresses on schedule. When the eco-terrorists deploy explosives at the facility, just as the Proteus Accelerator is going online, everyone must work together and stop the dark-energy black hole from destroying everything -- and everybody -- on Earth.
