Plot Synopsis

Using new technology that allows them to get face to face with dangerous creatures in their own habitat, Brian Grossenbacher and Andrew Ucles explore stories of animal-human interactions gone wrong, where predators went on unexplained, killing rampages against humans. Andrew is a passionate and eccentric Australian wildlife adventurer from Wollongong NSW, who has always had an insatiable curiosity for learning about wild animals. Brian is among the most noted American sporting photographers working today, and he spent the first two decades of his professional life as a fly fishing guide and outfitter in Bozeman, MT but has focused exclusively on sporting photography since 2005. In each one-hour episode of FACE THE BEAST, Andrew and Brian investigate a new mystery:

"Swamp of Death" (Premieres Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10pm): On a small island off the coast of Myanmar, Andrew and Brian investigate the mystery of the Ramree Island massacre, where a thousand Japanese soldiers were slaughtered by man-eating crocodiles. Today, they return to that same island to find a crocodile named Whitenose, who is stalking the people on the island and is rumored to be the largest crocodile in the world. Was Whitenose there at the slaughter? And will Andrew and Brian be able to capture this beast?

"Swarm of Sharks" (Premieres Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 10pm): Andrew and Brian venture out to solve the mystery of the La Concepcion, a shipwreck near the Bahamas where over 300 men were eaten by sharks in 1563. To discover the truth of why the sharks attacked, the two men will attempt to recreate the circumstances of the shipwreck, even going so far as to swim with the sharks at night. Could this swarm have been prevented or could this swarm happen again today?
