Plot Synopsis
THE FAMILY is a thriller that follows the return of local politician Claire's young son, Adam, who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier. As the mysterious young man is welcomed back into his family in Red Pines, ME, suspicions emerge -- is he really who he says he is? Adam's sister, Willa, who is also her mother's campaign manager, still feels responsible for his disappearance, because she was with him when he vanished. Adam's older brother, Danny, has turned self destructive. Adam's father, John, has spent the past 12 years pouring his energy into writing a book series about grief, as the loss of their child took a toll on his and Claire's relationship. And as Adam is welcomed back into his community, Hank, the neighbor sitting in jail for his murder, is released and Sgt. Nina Meyer, the cop responsible for the case, is forced to re-examine what truly happened so many years ago. THE FAMILY had a special premiere on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on ABC, before moving to its regular timeslot -- Sundays at 9pm -- on March 6.
