Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Jennifer Nettles, FARMER WANTS A WIFE is a one-hour reality series that follows four hard-working farmers in search of real, lasting love. Each farmer hosts a group of single women who leave behind the comfort and convenience of city life for the charms and challenges of country living, as they embark on an adventure that could change the course of their lives forever. The pursuit of genuine love never looked like this as each farmer and their group of hopeful singles meet and mutually select one another before the women are invited to experience life on their respective farm. From there, the farmers show each group what it is really like on an actual working farm, from tending to the land, feeding cattle and baling hay, to the behind-the-scenes business operations. For the ladies, the reality of this way of living may beg the question: how far are you willing to go for love? Together, with the hope of finding their ever-after, they endeavor to discover the beauty, humor, trials and romance that come with finding the one.

Hunter Grayson

Interests: Hunter enjoys team roping, free dive spearfishing and singing in his band "Hunter Grayson & The Hat Creek Band."

Ryan Black
Age: 32
Hometown: Shelby, NC
Current Location: Gastonia, NC
Occupation: Horse Trainer and Breeder
Type of Farm: 44-acre ranch
Education: University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Interests: Ryan enjoys training and competing horses. He also loves to build and design houses.

Landon Heaton
Age: 35
Hometown: Alva, OK
Current Location: Stillwater, OK
Occupation: Cattle Rancher and Farmer
Type of Farm: 300-acre Cattle Ranch, 300-acre farmland and a 40-acre farmhouse property
Education: Oklahoma State University
Interests: Landon enjoys bow hunting and training retrievers. He also loves to cook.

Allen Foster
Age: 32
Hometown: Williamsport, TN
Current Location: Santa Fe, TN
Occupation: Cattle Rancher

Education: University of Tennessee at Martin
Interests: Allen is an avid hunter and fisher. He also enjoys riding horses and driving ATVs.



Season 2 of FARMER WANTS A WIFE premiered on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 9pm ET/PT on FOX, with Jennifer Nettles returning for the new season. The season's new crop of farmers -- Ty Ferrell, Mitchell Kolinsky, Brandon Rogers and Nathan Smothers -- host a group of single women who leave behind the comfort and convenience of city life for the charms and challenges of country living, as they embark on an adventure that could change the course of their lives forever. With diverse backgrounds in cattle ranching, citrus, potato and barley farming, horse training and more, the upcoming season promises an even more in-depth look at the pursuit of genuine love as each farmer and their group of hopeful singles meet and mutually select one another before the women are invited to experience life on their respective farm. From there, the farmers show each group what it is really like on an actual working farm, from tending to the land, harvesting crops and feeding cattle, to the behind-the-scenes business operations. As the ladies immerse themselves in the realities of farm life, some will blossom while some will head out to pasture, and ALL will quickly learn a manicure only lasts so long in the great outdoors. With this comes even more fish-out-of-water moments, and only time will tell if the ladies have the patience, spirit and adaptability required to be a farmer's wife. Ty Ferrell

Meet Ty: Ty is a 42-year-old divorced Dad of a 12-year-old daughter. He's had rope in his hand since he was a kid, and he hasn't been without it since. He can't think of a better life for himself, but the one missing piece has been a special person to continue his life's journey with.

Mitchell Kolinsky
Age: 27
Hometown: Knoxville, TN
Current Location: Mount Juliet, TN
Occupation: 1st Generation Farmer
Type of Farm: New farm with a charming 19th century cabin where he lives with his three dogs. His property in the woods is shared with a variety of wildlife and the openness of the surrounding land welcomes the potential for growth
Meet Mitchell: Mitchell grew up in Knoxville with horses in his backyard, spending much of his time outdoors. While both his parents and his two brothers have more traditional, white-collar careers, Mitchell fell in love with the beauty and promise of the great outdoors. He knew a life in the heartland was the one for him, so he bought his first farm to pursue his dream of becoming a horse and cattle rancher. He hopes to build a farming legacy with a wife by his side.

Brandon Rogers
Age: 29
Hometown: Center, CO
Current Location: Center, CO
Occupation: 2nd Generation Potato and Barley Farmer
Type of Farm: 1,000-acre farm
Meet Brandon: Brandon is our most remote farmer, living in a small, one-stop-light town surrounded by his farmland. He grew up on the farm working with his Dad. Later in his twenties, he returned to work the farm full time to continue his family's farming legacy. His business is set up and doing well, and now the missing piece is that special person to share it with.

Nathan Smothers
Age: 23
Hometown: Bartow, FL
Current Location: Bartow, FL
Occupation: 4th Generation Citrus and Cattle Farmer
Type of Farm: 300-acre farm where he resides and an additional 500+ acre cattle property
Meet Nathan: Nathan grew up working his family's farm and citrus groves and at 23, is our youngest farmer. When he lost his Dad at 12-years-old, he quickly grew up and became the man of the house, helping to support his Mom and three sisters. He returned to live and work on the farm full time when he graduated from college and is eager to begin his next chapter, including starting a family with the love of his life.



Season 3 of FARMER WANTS A WIFE debuted on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 9pm ET/PT on FOX. In the new season, four new farmers -- Matt Warren, Jay Woods, John Sansone, and Colton Hendricks -- bring the heat as all-new daters look to leave behind city life for the charm of the country as they embark on an adventure that could change the course of their lives forever. Hosted by Kimberly Williams-Paisley, the third season dives deeper into the beauty and trials of homegrown love, and new twists put relationships to the ultimate test. Along the way, the farmers and their daters hit the road as they travel to Alabama for a speed dating event, Tennessee for a country ball and Texas for an overnight camping mixer. New this season, the final daters bring their families back to the farms where their loved ones experience first-hand what it is like living in the countryside. As the ladies immerse themselves in the realities of farm life, some blossom while some head out to pasture, and only time will tell if they have the patience, spirit and adaptability to become a farmer's wife. Matt Warren

Occupation: 1st Generation Avocado and Exotic Fruit Farmer
Type of Farm: 132-acre Avocado and Exotic Fruit Farm in Morro Bay and another 70-acre farm in Visalia.
Matt's natural gift for fruit farming makes it look like he's been doing it his whole life, but it wasn't until in the last few years when his sister-in-law's parents tragically passed away, that he traded in his real estate house flipping hammer for a harvesting hoe. Matt dove deeply into the agriculture industry and has worked alongside his brother and sister-in-law ever since. While he enjoys the loving nickname "Uncle Matt" from his nine nieces and nephews, he's more than ready for his own little one to call him "Dad." Matt is looking for someone active and family-oriented who can keep up with the fun of the fruit farming lifestyle.

Jay Woods
Age: 25
Hometown: Florence, AL
Current Location: Florence, AL
Occupation: Hay and Cattle Farmer
Type of Farm: 515-acre Hay & Cattle Farm
Despite not being initially perceived as a typical "cowboy," Jay grew up in the country of Alabama on his grandfather's horse farm surrounded by family - farming, hunting, kayaking, fishing, and anything else that kept him outdoors surrounded by animals. When Jay's original dream of becoming a pro athlete while playing football at Duke was crushed due to an injury, he began to reflect on the times in his life that made him the happiest to determine his next steps. Choosing to return to his roots was easy, and he's never looked back. While Jay felt pressure playing college football, it's nothing compared to the massive pressure his mom's been putting on him lately asking about grandbabies! Jay's looking for a kind-hearted, refined, confident woman who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty on the farm!

John Sansone
Age: 25
Hometown: St. Louis, MO
Current Location: St. Louis, MO
Occupation: Soy, Corn and Wheat Farmer
Type of Farm: 170-acre Soy, Corn, and Wheat Farm
John spent his youth alongside his five siblings, learning everything he could about farm life from his grandfather. To this day, he feels incredibly lucky to be in the presence of such an incredible farmer on his great grandfather's land and dreams of making his family even prouder by finding a partner. At the end of the day, when the hard work is done, he prioritizes studying for his law degree, going on woodland drives with his grandfather, daytime fishing and nighttime frog gigging. John is eager to find his life partner so he can continue the farming legacy and his grandfather can bear witness to the next, most important chapter of his life!

Colton Hendricks
Age: 28
Hometown: Mena, AR
Current Location: Mena, AR
Occupation: Cattle Rancher & Horse Trainer
Type of Farm: 600-acre Cattle Farm
Colton is a 28-year-old divorced dad of a two-year-old son. His upbringing on a farm instilled in him the value of hard work, as he spent his early years there alongside his dad. Love, family and ranching are Colton's top priorities. Colton knows exactly what he wants and has been having a tough time meeting someone ready to be a mom. With his whole family close by and gorgeous property to raise his dream football team-sized family, Colton is looking forward to meeting a partner who knows what they are signing up for.

On Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 8-10pm ET/PT, FOX premiered two episodes to close out the third season of FARMER WANTS A WIFE:

"Meet the Families (Part 2)" (8pm): The family visits continue at each farm involving even more heart-to-heart conversations where the farmers and the ladies will either gain clarity or become faced with doubt as they soon will be forced to make a final decision.

"Final Decisions" (9pm): The moment has come for each farmer to pick only one lady who they want to spend the rest of their lives with. The farmers will have to decide where their hearts lie and if their chosen lady will choose them back.
