Plot Synopsis

Travel expert Samantha Brown and her adventurous pal Chris Grundy find unsuspecting people on the street and ask them a simple question: "Can you leave right now?" If they say "yes," it's wheels up on an unforgettable two-day vacation as the travelers spend 50 hours (time in the air doesn't count) and $50,000 on their trip with Sam and Chris. Throughout the season, the travelers picked for each episode's journey craft their own adventure at every turn, as they make some very difficult decisions: choosing between exotic adventures in the islands of the Philippines or Nicaragua, the "Land of Lakes and Volcanoes"; tasting the world-famous New England whoopie pies or dining on trout and eggs from a James Beard award-winning Jackson Hole favorite; and opting to scuba dive in Phuket or rappel down Cape Town's iconic Table Mountain. The series opened with back-to-back half-hour pilot episodes, followed weekly by one-hour installments. In the series premiere, Sam and Chris team up with Al Roker to find two lucky travelers on the set of the TODAY Show and take them on an opulent adventure to Abu Dhabi. Then, in the second episode on premiere night, two strangers meet for the first time on TV and go immediately on a trip with Sam and Chris to Jackson Hole, where they enjoy a four-course meal on a peak in the Tetons and get to choose between a log cabin mansion and buying out the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. In subsequent episodes, Sam and Chris take travelers to Australia, Alaska, Nicaragua, South Africa, Maine and the Adirondacks.
