Plot Synopsis

In this half-hour studio-based program, iconic boxing announcer and host Jim Lampley uses his knowledge and insight of the sport to delve into boxing's intriguing storylines, newsmakers and issues. Programs are scheduled to appear periodically. The first episode featured: separate interviews with boxing promoters Bob Arum (Top Rank) and Richard Schaefer (Golden Boy Promotions); an interview with British boxing star Amir Khan and his trainer Freddie Roach regarding the cancellation of Khan's May 19th rematch with Lamont Peterson; guest segments with Roy Jones Jr. and Max Kellerman; and Lampley's first-ever "Gatti List" compilation (boxing's most entertaining fighters). THE FIGHT GAME WITH JIM LAMPLEY returned for its third season at 12:05am ET/PT late Saturday (April 19, 2014)/early Sunday (April 20, 2014) on HBO, immediately following the replay of the world welterweight title fight between Timothy Bradley Jr. and Manny Pacquiao at 11pm ET/PT. In the Season 3 opener, Lampley touched on these topics: an insider's recap of the Bradley-Pacquiao bout; the sights of sounds of fight week in Las Vegas; interviews with ESPN's Dan Rafael and HBO Boxing's Max Kellerman; breaking down the upcoming pay-per-view showdowns on May 3 and June 7; and new rankings for THE FIGHT GAME Pound for Pound List and Gatti List.
Season 5 of THE FIGHT GAME WITH JIM LAMPLEY premiered on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11pm ET/PT on HBO. In this edition, Lampley looks at the current state of the very fluid heavyweight division; Max Kellerman and Bernard Hopkins join Lampley to discuss the latest boxing headlines and issues; an all-new THE FIGHT GAME pound-for-pound compilation; and correspondent Melissa Stark travels to northern New Jersey to profile the women of Main Events, the boxing promotional company comprised almost entirely of females led by CEO Kathy Duva.
