Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Robert Torti, THE FILTHY RICH GUIDE reveals the ways in which the richest 0.01% spend their money. From secret worlds and outrageous mansions to private islands and custom wheels, this series catalogues -- while poking fun at -- the most opulent homes, getaways and toys of the ultra-rich. Each 30-minute episode has its own theme, including: "Buying Fun," which documents how entrepreneur Charles Shaker managed to spend $500,000 on one bar tab in Monte Carlo and Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal spent $78 million dollars on his daughter's over-the-top Parisian wedding; "Billion Dollar Listings," which tours a 66,000-square foot Hampton's home with 29 bedrooms and 39 bathrooms (owned by Junk Bond King Ira Rennert) and a 400,000-square foot, 27-story home (owned by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani); "Never Growing Up," which shows how casino owner Don Laughlin is paying to be cryogenically frozen -- so that he can be brought back to life in the future; "Billionaire Bad Boys," which reveals how Oracle CEO Larry Ellison bought a Hawaiian island for nearly half a billion dollars and how Prince Jefri of Brunai spent $800,000 on life-sized statues of himself and his then fiance in various sexual positions; and "Supercars and Private Jets," which takes a ride on a custom motorcycle that runs on top shelf tequila and a private jet that has a waiting list so exclusive that even Oprah has to patiently wait for her chance to own one. THE FILTHY RICH GUIDE returned for its second season on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on CNBC. The season opener, "The Filthy Rich Guide to Billionaire Clothes, Neighboring Feuds and Parking Your Supercar," reveals how the uber-wealthy don't dress like a million bucks -- they dress like a billion bucks, with diamond shoes and shirts made from solid gold. Plus, the episode provides a front row seat to high-priced feuds over trees that block the view and statues that should probably be censored. And then, the program shows how the filthy rich are willing to drop a million bucks on an oil-stained, concrete slab (aka the world's most expensive parking spot). Season 3 of THE FILTHY RICH GUIDE premiered on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on CNBC, as the series returns with 10 all-new episodes, providing a billionaire's blueprint to understanding the mega-wealthy and the spectacular ways they spend their time and money. Does Mariah Carey really spend 100K a month on flowers? Did Nicolas Cage fork over three times that amount for dinosaur bones? How much will PayPal Billionaire Peter Thiel pay to discover a real "fountain of youth"? THE FILTHY RICH GUIDE reveals the habits of all of these sky-high spenders. In the season opener, "Winning the Wedding Wars; Filthy Rich Internet; Luxury Life Hacks," Filthy Rich bad boy Dan Bilzarian reveals the keys to Instagram immortality. Free Love, Firepower and Felines! Celebrity Wedding Planner Kevin Lee literally moves mountains to win the Billionaire Wedding Wars. Plus, got a dirty Maserati? Bathe it in champagne! Filthy Rich Life Hacks explore the most expensive ways to solve life's little problems.

On Wednesday, August 22, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, CNBC debuted "Billionaire Breakups; Johnny Depp's Guide to Sensible Spending; Not Being a Vanillionaire," the summer premiere of THE FILTHY RICH GUIDE. In the mid-season premiere, How do you mend a broken billionaire heart? (Hint: it's expensive AND delicious!). How does Johnny Depp keep himself afloat on just two million dollars a month? Plus, this episode celebrates the Filthy Rich Georgian who puts BORING billionaires to shame!
