Plot Synopsis

THE FIRST 48: MURDER IN THE FAMILY features updates on cases from THE FIRST 48, including all-new interviews with the detectives involved with the case. On Monday, June 1, 2015 from 8pm-Midnight ET/PT, A&E premiered four back-to-back episodes, but had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. The updated stories for the night of the series premiere include:

Lester Street: In Memphis, Lt. Toney Armstrong and his team respond to Memphis's worst mass murder in more than 15 years, where they find four adults and two children dead. Armstrong's entire team is called to action as they scramble for leads, while the local media follows their every move. When investigators learn that the killings may have been committed by a Blackout squad -- a gang-ordered directive to wipe out an entire family -- they need to find the killers before they strike again.

Ashes and Snow: In Minneapolis, just days before Christmas, Sgt. Rick Zimmerman and Sgt. Tammy Diedrich are called to the murder of a young woman, found strangled in a partially burned car. As they fight against the clock and a snowstorm, the team soon realizes that the killer may be closer than they think.

Heartless: In New Orleans, the brutal murder of a mother and her two children sends Detective Darrell Doucette on the hunt for a suspect the victims may have known.

Fast Friends/The Thin Line: In Cleveland, a young father is murdered in his car and detectives discover his friend may know who pulled the trigger. In Tulsa, the homicide team goes on the hunt for a shotgun wielding killer who tore a family apart.
