Plot Synopsis

FISH TANK KINGS is a reality series that follows Mat Roy and his crew at Living Color, a Florida-based custom aquarium company, where these aquarium artists create over-the-top, stunning and memorable aquatic exhibits. In this 60-minute series, Living Color completes projects for the Florida Aquarium, a Las Vegas hotel, former Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning, the Rainforest Cafe, and multiple repeat clients. But the company's crown jewel is the aquarium that is the home-plate backstop at the new stadium for Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins. The Living Color crew includes: Mat Roy, the company's president, who is responsible for overseeing all projects and running operations; Francis Yupangco, a lifelong fish geek, who is the head marine biologist, overseeing the construction and marine life in the custom tanks; Ben Alia, the senior project manager, whose expertise allows the team to fabricate the most sophisticated of designs; Jose Blanco, the production and safety manager, who plans and creates a happy home for the fish; and John Manning, the life support system designer, who is responsible for creating intricate systems in small spaces that will ultimately keep the exotic creatures inside the tank healthy. Season 2 debuted on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT, with a new season featuring even more extreme projects, such as: a vintage Volkswagen Minibus that they transform into a fish tank for a local car dealer; restoring a 25,000-gallon tank at The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, an educational facility and rehab center for sea turtles; installing a pair of outsized fish tanks around a fireplace at a private residence in Orlando; and many more outrageous jobs.

FISH TANK KINGS returned for its third season on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Nat Geo Wild. In the Season 3 premiere, the guys at Living Color are asked to transform a second-floor office space into South Florida's largest privately owned fish tank and then the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, N.Y., commissions Francis to design, build and install a new Pacific octopus exhibit. In subsequent episodes, the team at Living Color work on projects for these clients: PB Catch restaurant owner Thierry Beaud, who wants crystals instead of coral and simplicity instead intricacy; the owners of Obie One Recording Studio, who want a Paris-themed aquarium that will impress the likes of Madonna and Justin Timberlake; the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan, who wants an aquatic oasis at his Dog Psychology Center in the California desert; and a Florida homeowner who the guys want to trick into thinking the house was built around an enormous aquarium.
