Plot Synopsis

FIVE DAY FLIP is a one-hour reality series that follows Aussie renovator Cherie Barber as she guts and remodels fixer uppers, and puts them back on the market in only five days. She spots outdated homes that need cosmetic improvement, beautifies them and then flips the newly polished property in less than a week. She and her team remodel homes from top to bottom with quick and high-impact improvements, such as updated kitchen backsplashes, modern mudrooms and fresh wall finishes. To keep things moving, Cherie salvages as much as possible from the old house, re-using original hardwood floors, vintage trim, lighting fixtures, and more. She also dedicates time to add fresh curb appeal, since it's the first thing noticed by potential buyers. With a short amount of time to flip and stage the home, Cherie and her team work around the clock in hopes that buyers love her high-impact changes. In the series opener, Cherie renovates a mid-century Rambler by knocking down a wall to create an open-plan kitchen that flows to the dining room. The dining room gets shiplap walls, and Cherie creates a microwave station in the kitchen by closing off a useless second door in a bedroom. Cherie modernizes the bathroom while preserving its funky retro floor tile, and saves a cast-iron tub by reglazing it. Plus, she converts a wasted space into a functional mudroom. HGTV debuted the pilot episode of FIVE DAY FLIP on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Noon, 10 months before the show's official series premiere.
