Plot Synopsis

"$5 Cover" is a drama about young musicians in the midtown Memphis music scence as they search for love, inspiration and the next paying gig. Even though the series is fictional, the actors are real Memphis musicians -- mostly playing themselves -- and the storylines and characters are inspired by their lives and music. This 15-part web series also airs on MTV, which repackages three seven-minute episodes (or tracks) into one 30-minute TV episode. Featured bands include: garage-rock band Jack O. & The Tearjerkers; rock-and-roll band Lucero; rock trio River City Tanlines; indie-rock band Snowglobe; eight-piece indie-pop band Two Way Radio.
