Season 1 Season 2
Plot Synopsis
Created and written by Ronald D. Moore, FOR ALL MANKIND is a drama series that imagines what would have happened if the global space race never ended and the space program remained the cultural centerpiece of America's hopes and dreams. This series spotlights the lives of NASA astronauts -- the heroes and rock stars of their time -- and their families. The first three episodes of FOR ALL MANKIND premiered on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Apple TV+ released the series on the same day the streaming network launched.

FOR ALL MANKIND returned for its second season on Friday, February 19, 2021, as Apple TV+ released the first episode of the 10-episode new season. A new episode debuts each Friday through April 23. Season 2 picks up a decade later in 1983. It's the height of the Cold War and tensions between the United States and the USSR are at their peak. Ronald Reagan is President and the greater ambitions of science and space exploration are at threat of being squandered as the US and Soviets go head to head to control sites rich in resources on the moon. The Department of Defense has moved into Mission Control, and the militarization of NASA becomes central to several characters' stories: some fight it, some use it as an opportunity to advance their own interests, and some find themselves at the height of a conflict that may lead to nuclear war.
Two months earlier -- on December 8, 2020 -- Apple TV+ announced that FOR ALL MANKIND had been renewed for a third season.
