Plot Synopsis

Produced by series star Trell Woodberry, FOR THE LOVE OF JASON is a half-hour comedy series that looks at being single from the perspective of a thirtysomething Black male. Jason has always had it together. He's educated and financially stable with no baby mama drama. When he broke off his longtime relationship, he got caught up in the bachelor lifestyle, not realizing life was passing him by. One by one, his friends start settling down, leaving Jason the odd man out. He now feels pressure to catch up and finds himself in awkward dating encounters with women. Through it all, his friends are there to help him along the way. FOR THE LOVE OF JASON debuted on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as UMC released the first episode. In the series opener, Jason attends his friend Erick's wedding and feels the pressure from family and friends to settle down -- and things take a turn when an unwanted guest arrives. FOR THE LOVE OF JASON made its linear television debut on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11pm ET/PT on WE tv.

The sophomore season of FOR THE LOVE OF JASON premiered on Thursday, June 2, 2022, as AllBlk released the first episode of the new season. A new installment drops each Thursday thereafter. Jason and the gang get back together again after Lacy returns to town from filming her latest project but the reunion doesn't go quite as smoothly as they expected.
