Plot Synopsis

Hosted by renowned hip-hop artist, actor, and author Common, FRAMEWORK is a one-hour elimination reality series that showcases the nation's 13 best emerging furniture designers as they compete for a $100,000 cash prize, $20,000 in Ace Hardware gift cards, and the opportunity to launch their furniture nationally. Over the ten-week competition, these innovative and inspiring builders put their artistry and skill to the test in a series of challenges, using unconventional materials, rethinking classic furniture pieces, and incorporating a variety of techniques and disciplines to demonstrate their mastery of furniture creation. In each 60-minute episode, one contestant is eliminated by a panel of judges comprised of Common and two of the most influential names in the furniture world today: Nolen Niu, whose award-winning designs have been featured in over 300 publications worldwide and who will speak to the contestants' designs; and Brandon Gore, an internationally acknowledged artisan who has revolutionized the use of concrete in furniture and who will critique the builders on their ability to execute their designs. Common also serves as an Executive Producer of FRAMEWORK.
