Plot Synopsis

This supernatural crime drama focuses on the Gecko brothers -- professional thief Seth and the violent and unpredictable Richie -- who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers Freddie Gonzalez and Earl McGraw after their bank heist leaves several people dead. Escaping to Mexico and trying to outrun the authorities, chaos ensues when the Gecko brothers take the Fuller family hostage, steal their RV to cross the border, and take a detour to a vampire-infested strip club, where they must fight until dawn to get out alive. Seth is a modern-day desperado, who Richie broke out of prison just before their latest bank heist. Richie used to be the brains of the operation -- he planned and executed jobs with precision -- but now something is eating away at his soul, giving him a taste for killing and a window into something impossibly dark. Together, the Gecko brothers had pulled off 36 jobs for various criminal outfits across the country, but now Seth must save his brother -- even if that means making a deal with a shady cartel boss, Carlos Madrigal, who tells him about a place in Mexico called El Rey, where the brothers can find eternal happiness. After their latest bank heist went wrong and they started their journey to cross the border, the Gecko brothers came across Jacob Fuller, a fallen preacher, who bought a Winnebago to reconnect with his kids -- daughter Kate and adopted son Scott -- after his wife was killed in a car accident. Seizing the opportunity for a new ride, the brothers steal the van and take the Fullers hostage, as they try to outrun Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez, a young husband, father and lawman, who embarks on a mission of revenge that leads him to sacrifice everything -- his career and maybe even his soul -- to take down the Geckos. As the brothers continue their trip to El Rey, they meet Santanico, the mistress of evil and the central figure in an ancient cult of bloodsucking vampires, who can stare deep into a person's soul and know their deepest desires. FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES, the first scripted original series to air on El Rey Network, is based on characters from the 1996 theatrical film FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, directed by Robert Rodriguez, who also directed the first, second and fourth episodes of this series. Three days before the series premiere on El Rey Network, the first episode of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES was screened at SXSW 2014 on Saturday, March 8 from 4:30-5:15pm. FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES returned for its 10-episode second season on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 9pm ET, immediately following an encore presentation of the entire first season from 11am-9pm. Chaos ensued in Season 1 when the group detoured to a strip club populated by culebras, snake-like ancient creatures who survive by drinking human blood. The new season delves into a new and unexpected chapter for the characters after a night at the Titty Twister ripped apart everything they knew about themselves, each other and their souls, as the saga travels from Mexico to edgy, tricked-out Texas. Santanico and Richie are outside Houston, doing their best Bonnie and Clyde; Seth and Kate are scraping by South of the Border; and Freddie Gonzalez is protecting his wife and young daughter in the suburbs. Carlos Madrigal and Scott Fuller emerge from the Titty Twister, changed men. They will all come together once again -- this time facing off against an even bigger threat. Robert Rodriguez directs the Season 2 premiere and finale; additional directors include showrunner Carlos Coto, Eduardo Sanchez, Alejandro Brugues, Joe Menendez, and Dwight Little. Season 3 of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES premiered on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 9-11pm ET, showing back-to-back new episodes immediately following a catch-up marathon (6am-9pm) of encore episodes. Season 3 continues the Gecko brothers' saga as they fight their way through the chilling world of culebras, the vampire-snake hybrids that control hidden empires in Texas and Mexico. Once the baddest outlaws in the land, Seth and Richie made a run for the Border two years ago to save their lives -- and their fortune. After stumbling into a bar full of bloodsuckers and bandits, the Geckos encountered the vampire goddess Santanico, joining her cause to settle an old score. It won them a place in the culebra world. Now that world is on the verge of violent and destructive explosion as new enemies hell-bent on domination gather to take them down. In typical Gecko fashion, Seth and Richie assemble an unlikely crew (some new, some old) to take on the forces of hell.
