Plot Synopsis

Chef and restaurateur Katie Button explores the origins and stories behind different delicious ingredients. She also shares her knowledge of cooking techniques to inspire others to be more curious, creative and joyful cooks. FROM THE SOURCE officially debuted on Friday, November 19, 2021, as the Magnolia Network and discovery+ released the first two episodes. In the series opener, "Seafood," Katie, inspired by a favorite seafood restaurant in Spain, accompanies a commercial fishing vessel to experience sustainable fishing methods first-hand and to learn how the seafood she loves ends up on her plate.

FROM THE SOURCE made its linear television debut on Sunday, April 17, 2022 from 3-4pm ET, as Magnolia Network aired back-to-back episodes.

The sophomore season of FROM THE SOURCE premiered on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 3pm ET on the Magnolia Network. In the season opener, "Chocolate," Katie visits bean-to-bar specialist French Broad Chocolates in Asheville, NC, to gain a deeper understanding of how chocolate is sourced and processed. Inspired by her visit, Katie bakers her husband, Felix, his favorite dessert: a chocolate torte.

On Friday, December 16, 2022, the Magnolia App released "Beef," a special FROM THE SOURCE episode. Katie visits a family farm in Blufton, Georgia, that raises grassfed beef the way their great-grandparents did. She learns about regenerative agriculture, gets tips on butchering her favorite cuts, and shares techniques for cooking and the perfect steak.

Season 3 of FROM THE SOURCE debuted on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2pm ET on the Magnolia Network. In this episode, "Vinegar," Katie takes a trip to Brooklyn, New York, to meet the owner of TART Vinegar; together they transform unexpected ingredients into an array of complex flavors that are delicious whether they're on their own as vinegar or re-imagined in a dessert.
