Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Cameron Mathison (Season 1) and Dave Salmoni (Season 2), GAME OF HOMES is a one-hour reality series that follows four teams of two amateur home renovators as they complete makeovers on four rundown houses that are marked to be torn down, reviving them into dream homes as they compete for the grand prize of a home and a plot of land to put it on. These condemned houses slated for the wrecking ball are uprooted and transported by truck and barge. Here in public view teams work side by side, around the clock, to completely transform these dumps into show homes while living in them. Along the way they battle small budgets, tight deadlines, cramped quarters, and each other for a chance to change their lives forever. Every week, two expert judges -- Cheryl Torrenueva and Jeremy MacPherson in Season 1 -- are joined by celebrity guest judges, who together assess the design and workmanship of each team's room transformation, and then vote for their favorite room renovations. In the finale, in addition to the judges, the public also casts their votes, and the winning team is awarded their spectacular new home. In Season 2, Colin and Justin joined as regular judges after serving as guest judges in the first season. On Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 9pm ET, Discovery Family aired the U.S. premiere of GAME OF HOMES, beginning with the first season of the series. On Monday, September 4, 2017 at 10pm ET, Discovery Family aired the U.S. premiere of the second season of GAME OF HOMES, with Dave Salmoni taking over hosting duties. In the season opener, "Stairway to Hell," Todd Talbot is the guest judge As the competitors enter the Game of Homes arena for the first time, they must compete to determine which house they will be renovating for the next eight weeks.

On Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10pm ET/7pm PT, Discovery Family premiered the Season 2 finale of GAME OF HOMES. In the season ender, "The Final Countdown," teams have 48 hours to correct their mistakes and get the houses ready for the public vote. Dave welcomes the public to view the finished houses and their vote, combined with the judges, is used to tabulate the winner.
