Plot Synopsis

GARAGE GOLD is a reality series that follows the Garage Brothers, a North Carolina business run by Kraig Bantle, who cleans cluttered spaces in exchange for any valuables he can find. For each job, Bantle gives the customer an estimate to clear dysfunctional garages, attics and basements, and the customer chooses whether to pay that amount in cash or barter the items for his labor. Once Bantle and his crew remove the unwanted items, they help convert the newly-emptied space into a room the homeowners can enjoy and sell any recovered valuables on eBay or at the Garage Brothers' warehouse. The Garage Brothers' crew includes Frank and Peaches, the muscle of the team, and Mike, the team's appraiser -- none of whom are Bantle's brother. Each 30-minute episode of this series, which was filmed in October and November 2011, features a single customer, such as: an interior decorator who piled up decades of valuables in a cluttered workspace, with the crew uncovering a cast iron tub, a couple of art-deco chairs, and a hand-painted rocking horse; a single mom who wants to transform her garage into a room where her two rambunctious sons can play, with the crew recovering only a few trinkets and a toilet; a homeowner who wants to turn a cluttered barn into a beautiful animal shelter, where they find a 1960s stereo, a kitschy turkey doll, and a valuable find that Frank carelessly breaks; a homeowner who wants to convert a two-car garage into a dance studio, with the crew finding a piano, a pogo stick, and a vintage pinball machine; and many more customers who need to clean a room before transforming that space. On Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, DIY Network aired the Season 2 premiere of GARAGE GOLD. In the season opener, Kraig and his crew of clean-out specialists rid a client's garage of her kid's junk - from machetes and prom dresses to mysterious silver briefcase, which may bring them a profit. GARAGE GOLD returned for its third season on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the Season 3 opener, "Too Cool for School," Kraig and the crew clean a garage stuffed with old-school collectibles including boxes full of vintage beer cans, the first electronic handheld gaming consoles ever made and even hockey gear signed by a living legend. DIY Network premiered the fourth season of GARAGE GOLD on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 10-11pm ET/PT. In the one-hour season opener, "Texas Homerun," the guys tackle a 50-foot barn in Nocona, Texas, that hasn't been opened in a decade, and find a jaw-dropping piece of American history. Season 5 of GARAGE GOLD premiered on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as DIY premiered back-to-back new episodes immediately following a brand-new one-hour special (8pm) and an eight-hour marathon (Noon-8pm) of encore episodes. In the one-hour special, "All In, In Texas," Kraig can't believe the job he just landed. It's a huge risk, but he's bringing his crew on a 17-hour road trip all the way to Dallas, Texas. This three-bay garage is packed to the ceiling with vintage arcade games, vending machines, and rare memorabilia that keep the guys busy for two full days. This is a very expensive job for Kraig but he might earn record-breaking profits because the garage is stuffed with thousand dollar discoveries. In the season opener (9pm), "Rockets and a Ferrari," the Garage Brothers take on a job for a rocketeer with something special in his driveway. Once they crack into the garage, Kraig needs to figure out how to handle and what to do with an 11-foot rocket. Then, in the night's second new episode (9:30pm), "Man-Child Makeover," Kraig faces an uphill battle, but it's totally worth the hard work because this garage is stuffed with vintage video games, old comic books and sweet toys. That's not all, they even find a full-sized arcade game and a massive vintage scale! This garage is full of firsts for the Garage Brothers. For the homeowners, its time to grow up and clear out the dust-covered collectibles.

The sixth season of GARAGE GOLD premiered on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 10-11am ET/PT, as DIY Network premiered back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (10am), "Bugging Out," Kraig and his crew are surprised to find items they've never seen before, including two boxes full of exotic insects. Rare vintage Transformers keep things on track, and a trip to an expert appraiser leads to a place where Kraig never expected to find himself. Then, in the day's second new episode (10:30am), "The Finer Things in Life," the promise of 100-year-old items lures Kraig into a garage stuffed with historical discoveries. Two potentially antique swords from Toledo, Spain might be worth a small fortune, but the crew is nearly speechless when they uncover artwork signed by Andy Warhol.
