Plot Synopsis

The Gator Boys -- Paul Bedard and Jimmy Riffle -- and their team run Gator Boys Alligator Rescue in South Florida, where they educate and entertain the public using a menagerie of ferocious creatures they've captured while saving gators and wildlife displaced by urban sprawl. Using the funds the gator shows generate, Paul and Jimmy can continue to rescue troublesome wildlife, with the goal of returning every animal to its natural habitat unscathed. This series highlights a few of their jobs: tracking an alligator that has eight toes and capturing it before it's killed by a rival trapper; capturing alligator hatchlings deep in the Everglades -- during a lightning storm -- while the mother prepares to fight to the death to protect its hatchlings; tackling nuisance gators in torrential downpours; and saving alligators spotted near golf courses, grocery stores and restaurants during a period when nuisance gator calls are at an all-time high. Paul is known for his commanding personality and unmatched expertise, capturing any-sized gator underwater with his bare hands. He's a record-breaking triathlete who spends his off season heading up Gator Boys Alligator Rescue side by side with Jimmy. Despite brother-like bickering between the two, Jimmy looks to Paul as a mentor since they met while Jimmy was alligator wrestling at only 11-years-old. Plus, Paul deals with new volunteer Ashley, who is determined to assist with nuisance alligator calls and learn gator-wrestling techniques. Animal Planet aired a full-episode sneak peek on New Year's Day 2012 at 11pm ET, one week before airing the official series premiere. Almost one year after the series premiere, Animal Planet opened a new season -- called Season 1C according to listings on http://animal.discovery.com -- on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT, as the boys left Everglades Holiday Park to find a gator ranch in Mississippi. Season 2 debuted on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, Turtleman had to capture a critter he's never seen before at a community pool, where these unwanted swimmers were keeping kids from cooling off on a hot summer day. Plus, the boys are back in business in Florida -- the county has done an impressive overhaul on Everglades Holiday Park and the team has to act fast to get the operation up and running. GATOR BOYS returned for a new season on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Animal Planet. (This new season is called 'Season 2B' on listings at http://animal.discovery.com, but called Season 3 by many outlets.) In the season opener, Jimmy bought a restaurant, creating major friction with Paul. Earlier on the day of the premiere, Animal Planet aired a marathon of encore episodes (9am-8pm ET/PT) and a brand-new, one-hour special, "Deadliest Catches," at 8pm ET/PT, as the Gator Boys revisited their closest and deadliest encounters with ferocious alligators and determined their greatest catches ever. GATOR BOYS returned with new episodes on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 7-10pm ET/PT, as Animal Planet aired three consecutive new episodes. In the night's first episode, the Gator Boys leave no stone unturned as they look back at the wildest catches and outrageous characters they met in the swamps and bayous of Mississippi's gulf coast while working to establish the state's first no-kill alligator rescue. Then, the Gator Boys head south to establish Mexico's first no-kill croc rescue. The aggressive crocodiles and foreign terrain are tough, but with a monster-crocodile, El Diablo, terrorizing the villages, Paul vows not to leave until the beast is captured. The night conclude with a third episode during which Paul and Jimmy capture nuisance crocs and giant tropical snakes in Mazatlan, Mexico. They experience hospitality and culture shock as they tour the city. All bets are off when Paul goes into the water for a final face-off with the monster croc, El Diablo.

On Monday, August 17, 2015 from 7-11pm ET/PT, Animal Planet premiered four back-to-back new episodes of GATOR BOYS, immediately following an all-day marathon (6am-7pm) of fan-favorite encore episodes. The new installments include:

"Scariest Catches" (7pm): The Gator Boys look back at their most harrowing moments and close calls with the meanest gators and crocs in the Florida Everglades, Mississippi Bayous and Mexico's waterways.

"Girl Power" (8pm): Ashley analyzes the challenges she overcame to achieve success. She competes in a gator-wrestling event with a women's empowerment group.

"Crunch Time" (9pm): After Jimmy's gator bite, Bob Freer announces he must close Everglades Outpost due to financial woes. With no outpost to take in gators, the rescue cannot continue. It's a race against time as Paul fights to save the outpost and Gator Boys.

"Battle in the Bayou" (10pm): Before hunting season begins, Paul must rally the Gator Boys to rush to Mississippi to capture a gigantic gator. Later, Ashley sets out to prove that the Gator Girls are as tough as the boys.
