Plot Synopsis

Gavin is an ordinary boy from England, Stacey is an ordinary girl from Wales. The two are obsessed with each other, yet they've only ever spoken on the phone. They decide to make the journey to meet each other -- with their best friends, Smithy and Nessa, in tow for a double date -- but the peculiar personalities of their families and friends make it a rocky road to happiness. Their loved ones must learn to get along as their worlds collide and the relationship gets serious. Serious enough that they get married at the end of Season 1. During Season 2, Stacey moves in with her new husband but gets homesick and eventually moves back home while Nessa gives birth to Smithy's baby, which was conceived on their one-night stand on that first double date with Gavin and Stacey. For Season 3, Gavin starts his new life and new job in Wales, and his move to Barry Island means big changes for the whole family. Gavin's parents, Pam and Mick, have to adjust to an empty nest while Stacey's mom, Gwen has a full house again. Stacey is in her element, but will this finally be the solution to the couple's long-distance problem? And how will Gavin take to living in Wales?
