Plot Synopsis
Hosted by Rush bassist Geddy Lee, GEDDY LEE ASKS: ARE BASS PLAYERS HUMAN TOO? is a four-part docuseries that features interviews with music's most renowned bass players. Lee travels to the homes of these icons and digs into the stories that make these musicians stand out. A follow-up to his recent book, "Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass," the series features episodes with Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), Les Claypool (Primus), Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins), and Rob Trujillo (Metallica). All four 20-minute episodes of GEDDY LEE ASKS: ARE BASS PLAYERS HUMAN TOO? dropped on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 on Paramount+:
"Les Claypool": Geddy Lee dips into Les Claypool's world of wine, wieners and tasty bass guitar
"Robert Trujillo": Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo gives Geddy a tour of his psychedelic casa and shows off his surfing chops at the beach. They cruise the Venice Beach boardwalk to catch some hardcore skateboarding, score some tacos and check out the LA nightlife.
"Melissa Auf der Maur": Geddy meets fellow Canadian bassist Melissa Auf der Maur. Best known for her time in two of the Nineties' biggest bands, Melissa reveals a more private side as she takes Geddy on a tour of the beautiful Hudson Valley and her life in the arts today.
"Krist Novoselic": Geddy hangs out on the farm with Nirvana's Krist Novoselic, canning vegetables, nurturing orphaned animals, restoring churches, playing accordion, flying into the wild blue yonder and learning to make one's corner of the world that little bit better.
