Plot Synopsis

GHOST NATION is a one-hour reality series that follows the OG paranormal investigators that started it all -- Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango -- as they respond to urgent calls from local paranormal investigators, who have reached a dead end with their vexing personal cases. Each of the ten hour-long episodes features a one case and a multi-stage investigation that begins with a shocking paranormal story and a piece of evidence. Armed with brand new state-of-the-art technology and their meticulous methodology, the team, under its new banner, United Paranormal Research Organization (UPRO), face challenging and dangerous paranormal mysteries. In every investigation, collecting evidence is just the beginning. The team isn't merely conducting a cursory review of the case. With the help of their local contacts, team members embed themselves in the community, conducting multi-day investigations in an effort to track down the true source of these hauntings and restore peace to the living...and the dead. In the series premiere, "The Boys Are Back," the paranormal pioneers announce the formation of UPRO at the Fanboy Expo Event in Knoxville, Tennessee. Amateur paranormal investigator Jessica Clevinger is in the audience and immediately asks for help with a local case that's over her head. Single mom Brittany Totherow bought a White Pine, Tennessee, farmhouse because it was the perfect home in which to raise her young son. But soon after moving in, she experienced unnerving phenomena and witnessed a female apparition. Her future husband, Cory, eventually moved into the home with his own children, but it wasn't long before he began experiencing events himself. Within days, Cory started hearing unexplained footsteps and captured video of an apparition standing behind Brittany. Now, their children are starting to have strange encounters. At a loss for what to do, Jessica, Cory and Brittany turn to the UPRO team for help. Other stories featured in Season 1 include a couple who recently gained notoriety when their nanny-cam footage captured a ghostly shadow figure walking by their baby's crib; a local team that captured possible shadow people moving throughout a notorious haunt; and an investigator who is actually scratched by an unseen phantom.

Season 2 of GHOST NATION premiered Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT on Travel Channel, with Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango returning or more adventures to the other side. This season's locations have bigger mysteries, are more chilling, and have never been investigated on television. Not only will the team be helping distraught homeowners, they're also bringing their skills to an abandoned prison complex and a menacing tattoo parlor. And this time, they are calling in an old friend for some help. Paranormal investigator Shari DeBenedetti joins the investigations to keep a close eye on the monitors, reviewing footage on the hunt for all things paranormal. "After 15 years of hunting ghosts, we know that finding evidence of paranormal activity won't be enough to solve these problems entirely," said Hawes "We need to get to the source of the disturbance to bring these families much-needed peace, or else innocent people will continue to suffer. Since these are high-stakes personal cases, fans will see double the evidence and double the scares -- all season long." On all investigations, collecting evidence is just the beginning. The team isn't just parachuting in to conduct a cursory review of the case. With the help of their local contacts, they're going to embed themselves in the community, conducting multi-day investigations in an effort to track down the true source of these hauntings and restore peace to the living. Under the United Paranormal Research Organization (UPRO) banner, it isn't only Hawes, Gonsalves and Tango facing off against an unseen entity. Local paranormal groups, sometimes even the homeowners themselves, will join the team as they employ new devices and techniques for confronting and questioning spirits. They'll do whatever it takes to entice the ghost into telling its story and stop at nothing to get to the bottom of the paranormal phenomena. New locations this season include: Louisburg, North Carolina; Warwick, New York; Waynesville, Ohio; Biglerville, Pennsylvania and Blair, South Carolina. In the two-hour season opener (8-10pm), "The Witching Tree," Jason, Steve, Dave and Shari answer a distressed couple's call for help in Biglerville, Pennsylvania. The newlyweds believe a cursed "witching tree" in the yard is behind the apparitions and unexplained noises haunting their 19th-century farmhouse.
