Plot Synopsis

Based on the UK TV series of the same name, GHOSTS is a single-camera, half-hour comedy series about Samantha and Jay, a cheerful freelance journalist and up-and-coming chef from the city, respectively, who throw both caution and money to the wind when they decide to convert a huge rundown country estate they inherited into a bed & breakfast -- only to find it's inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home. The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes: Alberta, a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer; Isaac, a pompous 1700s Militiaman; Flower, a '60s hippie fond of hallucinogens; Pete, an overly upbeat '80s scout troop leader; Thorfinn, a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009; Trevor, a slick '90s finance bro; Sasappis, a sarcastic and witty Native from the 1500s; and Hetty, a society woman and wife of an 1800s robber baron who is Samantha's ancestor, to name a few. If the spirits were anxious about the commotion a renovation and B&B will create in their home, it's nothing compared to when they realize Samantha is the first live person who can see and hear them. GHOSTS debuted on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as CBS premiered back-to-back new episodes.

On Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 8:30pm ET/PT, CBS premiered "Spies," the Season 2 debut of GHOSTS. Sam enlists the Ghosts to help secure a good review from an overly critical couple staying at the B&B. Also, Isaac tries to integrate Nigel into his friend group. On Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 8:30pm ET/PT, CBS debuted "The Perfect Assistant," the winter premiere of GHOSTS. Sam and Jay are thrilled when they find a highly qualified assistant for the B&B -- however, their new employee comes with some surprising baggage. Also, Thorfinn tries to help his son, Bjorn, deal with a bully.

On Monday, October 30, 2023 from 8-9pm ET/PT, CBS aired an encore presentation of both Halloween-themed episodes of GHOSTS:

"Halloween" (8pm): On Halloween at Woodstone Mansion, the ghosts try to help Sam and Jay protect their home from the neighborhood kids who annually vandalize the house. Guest cast: Martin Sims (Police Officer -- Jim), Christina Filippidis (Meg -- Zack's Mom), Zachary Tadmor (Zack), Heidi Foss (Sue -- Police Officer), Aidan Vissers (Robbie), Olivia Yuqian Hu (Zoe), Drew Morelli (Trick-or-Treater), and Olivia Viggiani (Trick-or-Treater's Mom #1)

"Halloween 2: The Ghost of Hetty's Past" (8:30pm): A seance at Sam and Jay's last-minute Halloween party conjures up a spirit from Hetty's past. Also, Isaac worries Nigel will be turned off by his ghost power. Guest cast: John Hartman (Nigel Chessum), Tristan D. Lalla (Mark), Carolyn Taylor (June), Punkie Johnson (Ally), Darrin Baker (Randy), and Hannah Rose May (Molly).

GHOSTS has been renewed for a third season.
