Plot Synopsis

GREAT AMERICAN HEROES follows country singer Trace Adkins on his Songs and Stories Tour, as he takes the time to meet local heroes, learn about their efforts, and surprise them with a special gift that will help continue their mission. In each 60-minute episode, Trace travels to a new town to meet three local heroes doing amazing things to help support members of our military, children fighting medical battles, and homeless men trying to get back on their feet. During the first season of this series, Trace visits 10 different cities, including: Salina, Kansas, where Heidi Feyerherm runs the Monkey In My Chair Program, Amy Paden started Hearts of America, and Steve Kmetz pours his heart into the Salina Rescue Mission; Charleston, South Carolina, where Mackie Moore operates Rein & Shine, Ron Acierno founded Veterans on Deck, and Katie Stagliano grew Katie's Krops; Davenport, Iowa, where Fred Thomas created Beasly's Downtown Boxing Club, Kempy Stark built Rebuilding Together, and Mark Smith, Vinnie Smith & Joanie Steil organize Hand in Hand; Atlanta, Georgia, where Karen Harris launched Food Allergy Kids of Atlanta, Dana Lupton co-founded Moving In the Spirit, and Mackenzie Bearup delivers Sheltering Books; Easton, Pennsylvania, where Lori McCutcheon started Last Chance Ranch, Mike & Tom Rau handles Pennsylvania Water Rescue, and Stefan Goslawski started Community Bike Works; and five more American towns where Trace celebrates the good folks in the communities he visits.
