Plot Synopsis

A forensic anthropologist, a forensic psychiatrist and a retired police officer use the latest technology -- except for DNA, dental records or ID databases -- to identify a complete stranger's occupation, location and full name. Using surveillance footage, body scans, psych data and other medical records, this team of scientists assembles a profile of their mark. From the video, they identify main features like gender, age, ethnicity, and clothing, but they also use their lip-reading skills to learn something more about the person. When reviewing a body scan, they have a clear indication of acute and chronic injuries, giving them a few guesses about the person's past and current occupations and hobbies. Plus, the team evaluates psych data, pictures of surface cuts and marks, and a medical history. Once the team has a few guesses about how the subject sustained certain injuries, team members scatter across America to further investigate their leads to determine whether their mark was a stuntman, open water swimmer, circus performer, boxer, rock star or rock climber. The team includes: Dr. Natalie Shirley, a leading forensic anthropologist at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville), who works for the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program; Dr. Dan Shapiro, who earned his Ph.D in clinical psychology at the University of Florida and went onto Harvard Medical School, who is currently Professor and Chair of the Humanities Department at Penn State College of Medicine; and Bill Erfurth, a retired Miami Dade cop, who was promoted to Lieutenant in 1997 and assigned as Commander of the Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT), responsible for the supervision of 130 officers, and a multi-million dollar budget.
