Plot Synopsis

Created by Eric Newman, Doug Miro, Ingrid Escajeda, and Carlo Bernard, GRISELDA is a one-hour drama series that tells the story of Griselda Blanco -- a devoted mother and Colombian businesswoman -- who created one of the most profitable cartels in history. Her lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her to navigate between the worlds of underground business and family, as she rose from obscurity to become "The Godmother" of the underworld. Inspired by the real Griselda Blanco and set in Miami in the 1970s and 1980s, Newman says the idea for the series came from his time on NARCOS, adding "From the earliest days of my research for what became NARCOS, she leapt out at me as a fascinating character." All six episodes of GRISELDA dropped on Thursday, January 25, 2024 on Netflix.
