Plot Synopsis

HARDCORE PAWN: CHICAGO follows brothers Randy and Wayne Cohen, who own and operate Chicago's Royal Pawn Shop, one of the city's largest and oldest establishments in the pawn and gold-buying business. Whether challenging each other to a sales competition, determining the authenticity of memorabilia or dealing with angry customers, these two brothers don't always see eye to eye...except when it comes to finding the best deals for the business. Randy worked at his father's pawnshop since the age of 5 and only took time out during his early 20s to work as a bouncer at some of Chicago's hottest nightclubs. He would say he is the backbone and workhorse of Royal Pawn and that his older brother, Wayne, is a slacker and a dreamer. Wayne jokes that he was conceived in the back room of one of his father's old pawn shops and has worked in the family business ever since. Wayne loves to take chances in the hopes that he'll get a big payday. Plus, Randy and Wayne are joined by family members in the store: Elyse, Randy's daughter, who does it all at the store, from appraising jewelry to making loans to being the expert about modern gadgets; and Nate, Wayne's son, who has been working at Royal Pawn Shop his entire life and is currently attending college.
