Plot Synopsis

HAUNTED ENCOUNTERS: FACE TO FACE follows the Paranormal Syndicate, as they travel across the United States visiting the country's most famous locations that have been marred by tragedy and death. The Syndicate is unlike other paranormal investigators, because they re-enact past events while collecting and recording tangible evidence of paranormal activity and because they use a dog that is capable of sniffing out anomalous electromagnetic fields. In each 60-minute episode of this reality series, the team usually investigates two locations, such as: the infamous old farmhouse in Fall River, MA, which is the site of the infamous Lizzie Borden murders on August 4, 1892; The Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax in Los Angeles, CA, where the team tries to document proof that the theatre is still inhabited by two of its previous owners who died there; an ominous residence in Los Angeles, CA, believed to be the site of the infamous Black Dahlia murder, where the teams tries to contact the killer; long-abandoned subway tunnels deep beneath Boston, MA, which have served as the epicenter to tragedies and death for over a century; The Eastern State Penitentiary, one of America's most infamous super haunts, where thousands of violent criminals lost their lives behind the walls of this historic prison; the Hotel Cecil in Los Angeles, CA, which played host to several murders, rapes, and suicides, while also serving as a hideout for two of history's most notorious serial killers; the Kreischer Mansion in Staten Island, NY, which is a property stained with tragedy and home to numerous reports of paranormal activity; the Houghton Mansion, a mysterious Masonic temple in North Adams, MA, which has become infamous for frequent paranormal activity, including reports of shadow figures, apparitions, and phantom footsteps; St. Marks on the Bowery, Manhattan's second oldest church, which has a long, tainted history, stained with body snatching and hundreds of disturbed graves; and many more haunted locations. The Paranormal Syndicate includes: Daniel Hooven, the team's lead investigator, who developed the idea of a "Ripple in Time," which he uses to stimulate the dead through recreating relevant life experiences based on past events at each location; Jordan Murphy, the team's case manager, who is focused on finding evidence through her prized electronic voice phenomena (EVP) Recorder she refers to as "Pandora's Box"; Helmey Kramer, the team's technical specialist, who developed a revolutionary method to formally train and incorporate canine investigators to be valuable and contributing members of a paranormal team; Chelsea Damali, the team's psychic, who is a natural born clairvoyant/clairsentient, medium, and empath that has been practicing professionally for 20 years, while using her formal education in the medical field to help her perform in-depth health readings; and The Captain, the team's three-year-old, purebred, yellow labrador that uses scent to detect anomalous electromagnetic fields, which are typically present when ghosts manifest in some form.
