Plot Synopsis

HEAVY METAL MONSTERS is a reality series that follows large machines that men and women use to do their jobs, often in extreme conditions and under trying circumstances. Each 30-minute episode features two jobs that require heavy pieces of equipment, including: a Boeing Vertol, which loggers use for heli-logging and must cut enough trees to make the copter worth it; a Crane Barge, which workers in Maine must put in position without the use of motors so they can take down an 80-year-old bridge; the Amphibex, which one town in Canada uses as an ice breaker, an odd departure from a boat, to prevent the Red River in Manitoba from freezing over; a mega tug, which steers big supertankers out to sea in Alaska's Valdez Harbor; the Hagglund polar exploration vehicle, which tackles Yellowstone in the middle of winter to save the Grand Hotel; and many more huge machines, like a P&H 4100C, Feller-Buncher, and more.
