Plot Synopsis

HELL ON THE HIGHWAY is a reality series that follows four towing companies that brave winter snowstorms and tangled traffic to help motorists in need on Interstate 80 through Donner Pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Each 60-minute episode features at least three of the crews working dangerous jobs, such as: winching up a young driver's pick-up, which has plunged down a steep incline and slammed into a tree; extracting a big rig loaded with hay from a ditch far below the highway; rescuing an SUV that has hit black ice and flipped; up-right a big rig spread across the entire westbound highway; helping a competitor clear another jackknifed truck; rescuing a driver who plowed into a tree near an icy river; and many more life-saving rescues. The tow-truck drivers are: Edgar Stratton and Becky from Dependable Tow of Truckee, CA; Sam and his boss, Craig Sutton, from Nyack Towing of Emigrant Gap, CA; Eddie from High Sierra Towing of Truckee, CA; and Will from Running Bear Towing of Truckee, CA.
