Plot Synopsis

Based on Eri Sakai's 2012 graphic novel, "Kentaro Hiyama's First Pregnancy," HE'S EXPECTING is an eight-episode dramedy that reverses the lifestyles of men and women and explores the differences between them, centered around the question: What if a man became pregnant? When successful ad executive Kentaro Hiyama who's got it all figured out becomes pregnant, he's forced to confront social inequities he'd never considered before. He attributes his success to his ability to plan out every aspect of his life, but pregnancy changes that as morning sickness and other bodily changes start to affect his work. While at the hospital, Kentaro meets another cisgender pregnant man and the two become friends. All eight episodes of HE'S EXPECTING dropped on Thursday, April 21, 2022 on Netflix.
