Plot Synopsis

Created and executive produced by Ava DuVernay, each one-hour episode of HOME SWEET HOME follows two families from completely different walks of life as they accept the challenge to explore a world unlike their own. At the end of each episode, the two families reunite to share their eye-opening and life-changing experiences.

In the series opener, "Not as Important as I Thought I Was!," Black lesbian mothers reflect on the importance of teaching their heritage to their three young children after experiencing the deep-rooted culture of their switch family, an Orthodox Greek family of six. As everyone learns about their differences, both families revel in the commonalities they ultimately share with one another.
