Plot Synopsis

HOMETOWN HORROR is a one-hour docuseries that delves into small towns in America to examine what is behind tales of horror, mystery and intrigue that have lingered over these towns for centuries. These dark forces have haunted unassuming communities with stories of the undead, ghouls, monsters and things that go bump in the night, and this series shines a light on what may be lurking in the shadows -- such as the Pigman of Angola in New York, the hauntings of circus town Baraboo, Wisconsin, the blood-stained history of Perryville, Kentucky, and more. In the series opener, "Pigman," a small town in upstate New York, is stalked by a horrific apparition called The Pigman. Rumored to be a disfigured butcher with a taste for blood, he's deeply interconnected with a deadly train accident that shook the town, Angola, 150 years ago.
On Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11pm ET/PT, Travel Channel premiered "Satanic Swamp," the season finale of HOMETOWN HORROR. The village of Freetown, Massachusetts, sits next a vast forest associated with unexplained events, bizarre accidents, and satanic cults. Many believe dark forces were released when the ancient guardians of the forest were displaced by settlers.
